Job description:

We are looking for a Database Administrator with hands-on Snowflake experience to help support the performance, security, and reliability of our cloud data platform. You'll work alongside senior DBAs and data engineering to maintain Snowflake environments, execute on established best practices, and grow your expertise in cloud data warehousing. This role reports to a Senior DBA/Data Platform Lead and offers a strong path to develop deeper Snowflake architecture and governance skills in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Job responsibilities:

• Support the administration, configuration, and day-to-day maintenance of Snowflake environments, including warehouses, databases, schemas, roles, and resource monitors.

• Help implement and maintain Snowflake security controls under senior guidance: role-based access control (RBAC), data masking, row-level security, and network policies.

• Monitor query and warehouse performance, flag bottlenecks in compute usage, clustering, and storage, and assist in tuning under the direction of senior team members.

• Assist with cost governance tasks — monitoring warehouse usage, contributing to resource monitor setup, and surfacing optimization opportunities.

• Support capacity planning efforts by tracking data volume and concurrency trends and reporting findings to senior staff.

• Help execute and test backup, replication, failover, and disaster recovery procedures across Snowflake accounts.

• Partner with data engineers to support and troubleshoot data pipelines, ELT/ETL jobs, and data models (e.g., dbt).

• Assist in administering and troubleshooting integrations with tools such as Fivetran, Airflow, dbt, Tableau/Looker/Power BI, and Snowpipe for data ingestion.

• Follow and help maintain DBA standards, runbooks, and change-management processes for the Snowflake environment.

• Support broader database operations as needed, including other relational platforms (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL) used across the organization.

• Stay current on new Snowflake features and share relevant findings with the team.

Job requirements

• 3-5 years of database administration experience, including 1-2 years working with Snowflake in a production environment.

• Working knowledge of Snowflake architecture: virtual warehouses, micro-partitions, clustering keys, Time Travel, zero-copy cloning, Snowpipe, and Streams/Tasks.

• Solid SQL skills and experience writing and troubleshooting moderately complex queries.

• Some exposure to Snowflake security and governance concepts: RBAC, masking policies, secure views, and access policies.

• Familiarity with Snowflake usage monitoring and cost awareness (e.g., ACCOUNT_USAGE, query profiling).

• Exposure to infrastructure-as-code or CI/CD for data platforms (e.g., Terraform, schemachange, dbt, Gitbased workflows) is a plus.

• Basic working knowledge of at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Some experience with data pipeline/orchestration tools (Airflow, Fivetran, dbt, or similar).

• General understanding of data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and ELT/ETL design patterns.

• Good troubleshooting instincts and willingness to escalate and collaborate on production incidents.

• Clear communication skills and comfort working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

We offer:

• Hybrid Workplace: Flexible work arrangements combining remote and on-site options.

• Excellent Working Conditions: A supportive and productive environment designed for your success.

• Experienced Team: Collaboration with skilled professionals in a dynamic and knowledgeable team.

• Educational Resources: Access to a variety of training programs and learning materials to support your professional development.

• Private Health Insurance: Comprehensive coverage to ensure your well-being.

• FitPass: Access to a range of fitness facilities and classes.

• Office Massage: On-site massage services to help you relax and rejuvenate.
