Job description:

We are looking for a Data Engineer to help build and maintain the analytics platform that supports the business as it grows. You'll help build pipelines, data models, and infrastructure that power reporting, analytics, and data products across the company, working under the guidance of senior data engineers and analytics leadership. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving data problems and wants to grow their skills building a SaaS company's analytics foundation.

Job responsibilities:

• Build and maintain ELT/ETL pipelines that ingest, transform, and deliver data from production systems, third-party APIs, and SaaS tools into the data warehouse.

• Contribute to data models and warehouse structures (e.g., in Snowflake or a similar cloud data warehouse) under the direction of senior engineers, with an eye toward scalability.

• Partner with analytics, product, and business teams to translate reporting and analytics requirements into data models, with senior support on complex or ambiguous requirements.

• Support data pipeline performance and reliability, including monitoring, alerting, and participating in incident response for data infrastructure.

• Build and maintain data quality checks and testing to help ensure trusted, accurate data across the organization.

• Contribute to data solutions that support self-service analytics and embedded reporting, working from designs and patterns set by senior team members.

• Apply modern data engineering practices, including version-controlled transformations (e.g., dbt), CI/CD for data pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code.

• Help identify opportunities to optimize compute and storage costs across the data platform.

• Collaborate with software engineering to help ensure production systems emit clean, well-structured data suitable for downstream analytics.

• Follow established data governance practices, including access controls, data lineage, and documentation standards.

• Share knowledge with other engineers and analysts on data modeling, SQL performance, and pipeline design as opportunities arise.

Job requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in data engineering, ideally at a SaaS or high-growth technology company.

• Solid experience with a cloud data warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift) and strong SQL skills for writing and troubleshooting complex queries.

• Experience building and maintaining ELT/ETL pipelines using tools such as dbt, Airflow, Boomi, Mulesoft, or similar.

• Good understanding of data modeling techniques (dimensional modeling, star schema, etc.) and designing for performance and usability.

• Some experience working with data solutions that scale to meaningful data volume and concurrency, with growing exposure to enterprise-level requirements.

• Proficiency in a programming language commonly used in data engineering (Python, or similar) for pipeline development and automation.

• Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and exposure to infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or similar).

• General understanding of data governance, access control, and data quality practices.

• Experience partnering with analytics, BI, or data science teams to support dashboards and self-service reporting.

• Good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical data decisions to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
