COBOL Developer
Job description:
TIAC is looking for COBOL Developers to join an agile team working on an enterprise-level system for a US client in the financial services industry. You’ll work across the whole development lifecycle, from analyzing requirements to production support. You’ll also take part in client implementations and work directly with the client’s team.
Job responsibilities:
- Review and analyze functional requirements and use cases
- Write specifications, then code, configure and test application features
- Take part in code and design reviews
- Find and fix defects and performance issues
- Write technical documentation and deployment impact analyses
- Join team, project and client status meetings
Job requirements
Must have:
- 2+ years of professional software development experience
- Intermediate knowledge of COBOL
- Good knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Good understanding of the software development lifecycle
- Ability to write clear technical documentation, such as functional specifications and process documentation
- Degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field, or equivalent certification or coursework
- Good English, since you’ll be working with US clients
Nice to have:
- Java experience
- Experience in financial services, insurance or accounting
- Agile/Scrum experience
- Knowledge of XML, JSON, REST and web technologies
- Experience with MSSQL, DB2 or Oracle
- Experience with Git or SVN and Jira
