Boomi Developer

We are looking for a Boomi Developer to join a large-scale integration migration project, moving existing integrations from MuleSoft to Dell Boomi.

The project is delivered in several phases. We are currently working on Phase 2, which covers 27 integrations, while Phase 3 includes 165 more. The main goal is to re-implement existing MuleSoft integrations in Boomi while keeping the same business functionality and expected behavior.

For each integration, technical and functional documentation is prepared and approved by the client before development starts. Based on this documentation, the development team implements the integration in Boomi. The aim is not to copy the MuleSoft implementation shape by shape, but to keep the required functionality while following the agreed Boomi architecture, integration patterns and development standards.

The integrations cover a wide range of patterns and technologies, including synchronous REST/SOAP APIs, scheduled and batch integrations, asynchronous and event-driven integrations, database connectivity, file processing/SFTP, and data transformation and mapping. For example, some integrations expose APIs through Boomi, transform requests between JSON and XML, and communicate with backend systems via SOAP services. Others periodically pull data from databases, transform it, generate files and transfer them via SFTP.

The project uses a framework that generates the initial structure for each integration type (API, bulk batch, asynchronous and others). This gives developers a predefined starting point and ensures that the agreed architecture, naming conventions and shared components are applied consistently across all integrations.

Work is tracked in Azure Boards, and CI/CD pipelines automate the deployment of Boomi components across environments (DEV, TEST/UAT and PROD), so there is no manual deployment per environment.

You will work closely with Boomi colleagues and with the client's team, who are engaged and responsive. We have a daily client meeting at 11:00, and the client team works in the UK time zone.

• Take approved integration specifications, understand the required functionality and implement it correctly in Boomi
• Build and configure Boomi processes and subprocesses, APIs, profiles, maps and connectors (REST, SOAP and others)
• Implement JSON/XML transformations, database integrations and SFTP integrations
• Configure properties, error handling, logging and request/response processing
• Work with source/target data mappings and WSDL, XML, JSON and API contracts
• Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues
• Identify missing or unclear details in the documentation (mappings, message structures, expected behavior) and clarify them with the client or project team before continuing
• Follow the established development, ticketing (Azure Boards) and CI/CD deployment processes
• Apply the agreed Boomi architecture, integration patterns and naming conventions
