DESCRIPTION
MK portal is and intranet application designed for evolution of corporative spirit and employee synergy. In order to achieve this, it was necessary that the portal should have agreeable design and present information that is changed often and that are interesting for reading on day-to-day basis. Accordingly, the portal presents updated press-clippings, news, photo gallery, law and regulations, links, address book, corporative reports, useful documents etc. All information is updateable and there is a hierarchy of privileges that enables different access to reading information and different possibilities to change information.
In additional requirements, the integration with access control of the company was developed in order to enable overview of reports about employee work attendance through internal portal.
TECHNOLOGIES:
Technology used in this project is based on open source solutions i.e. on Java platform using MySQL database.
Within Java platform the following is used:
- JSP + Servlet-i (user interface)
- Java Beans (business logic)
- JDBC (database access)
Jakarta Tomcat application server and MySQL database server are used.
A portal approach was used in development of this solution. The solution comprises of portlets that are reusable as components.
In the process of integration with access control, MS SQL Server was used as database.
