NAME: MIS/4
CLIENT: M&I Systems, Co.
Duration: November 2004 –
Other participants: M&I Systems, Co.

DESCRIPTION

This project represents a classical ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) solution that incorporates work of the entire company. The following modules are incorporated in this solution: supplies, sales, accountancy, retail, production. This information system covers all services in a company, while there is one database that registers all changes in the entire system. Considerable automatism of work is provided, and the parametric approach made customization of solution for different users possible.

TECHNOLOGIES:

The technology is based on IBM platform; both IBM hardware and software have been used in development. This is a J2EE application made by using EJB specifications.

Within Java platform the following is used:

  • Swing (user interface)
  • RMI (Remote Method Invocation; client-server communication)
  • Java Beans (transfer objects)
  • Session beans (transportation layer and business logic)
  • Entity beans (persistent layer)
  • JDBC (database access).

Application server that was used as a support to execution is Web Sphere, while the system for database management is DB2. Rational Rose and Web Sphere Application Developer Studio have been extensively used in development. To facilitate work, our own development framework is used.

Hardware platform is IBM's hardware, primarily iSeries generation of servers.
