We proudly announce that TIAC’s project idea ELMER is selected as one of the first 100 ideas that will have a chance to participate in the second round of the KATANA project. KATANA is an EU-funded business accelerator that is looking for promising entrepreneurs with fresh ideas who want to co-create the future of business in the agrifood sector. The best applications were selected via peer-to-peer evaluation.
ELMER is an online, information-rich, decision support and action platform that enables networking of key actors across the supply chain of perishable produce. ELMER is a planning tool for farmers aimed to optimize the supply and demand match of perishable produce in public markets in urban areas. ELMER is based on vertical B2B collaboration between farmers and public markets. Furthermore, ELMER facilitates horizontal cooperation among regional farmers through sharing of information to aggregate relevant regionwide supply metrics. It is conceived to be a web portal with Android application.
For a quick overview of our idea, watch our introductory video.
Next steps that await us are training and preparation for the second round, forming up a partner consortium, and attending the KATANA Boot Camp in Stuttgart (Germany) in July 2017. This event will give KATANA beneficiaries an exclusive chance to meet other European players across the agrifood value chain, so as to prepare their products/services for the second Open Call and to support SMEs and entrepreneurs in defining and fine-tuning their ideas.
At this point, TIAC is looking for partners (SMEs, enterpreneurs, researchers) to join us in developing ELMER for the second round of the KATANA. If you are interested in collaboration and believe you could contribute to the concept, contact us at info@TIACgroup.com.
